F. Louise Smith (1838-1913) was born and died in Plattsburgh, New York.
She worked as a public school teacher for many years, first in Chicago and later in
Plattsburgh. She became interested in Christian Science after her sister received
Christian Science treatment through prayer from Caroline D. Noyes, a student of Mary
Baker Eddy's. There is no record of her studying with Mary Baker Eddy or uniting with
the Church of Christ (Scientist).
