Augustus Smith
Augustus Smith (c. 1837-1923) was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and died
in Brookline, Massachusetts. He worked as a butcher and married Melissa J. Moore in
Brighton, Massachusetts, in 1864. Although his wife was a student of Mary Baker Eddy's,
there is no record of Smith studying with Eddy or uniting with The First Church of
Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts.
