Alonzo W. Smith (1848-1906) was born in Stow, Massachusetts, and died in Somerville, Massachusetts. He worked as a steam engineer and married Clara A. Sargent in 1869. In 1885, Clara wrote to Mary Baker Eddy, asking for information about studying at the Massachusetts Metaphysical College.
