Sarah M. Slauson (c.1842-1915) was born in Piqua, Ohio, and died in
Elizabeth, New Jersey. She was the second wife of Richard Slauson, a wealthy corn and
grain merchant from Piqua. She became interested in Christian Science after receiving
treatment through prayer from Bradford Sherman, a student of Mary Baker Eddy's. After
being treated by Sherman, she studied
Science and Health with Key to
the Scriptures and later wrote to Eddy for information about studying at the
Massachusetts Metaphysical College.
