Alice M. Sibley (1865-1939) was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and died
in Merrimack, New Hampshire. She was a student and close companion of Mary Baker Eddy's.
In the summer of 1882, Sibley accompanied Mary Baker Eddy to Barton, Vermont, where Eddy
spent a month following the death of her husband, Asa G. Eddy. Upon their return to
Boston, Sibley enrolled in the Massachusetts Metaphysical College, studying with Eddy in
August 1882. Her relationship with Mary Baker Eddy and Christian Science seems to have
ended abruptly in 1883 at the insistence of Sibley's family.
