Laura L. Shipherd (1831-1912) was born in Kents Hill, Maine, and died in Orono, Maine. Shipherd was a journalist who wrote under the pen name "Kate Hunnibee." From 1869 until 1887 she edited the "Home Interest" page of the New York Tribune. In early 1885 she wrote to Mary Baker Eddy, expressing an interest in reviewing Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.
