Ellen H. Sheldon (1841-1890) was born in New York and died in Washington,
D.C. She worked as a clerk and copyist for the U.S. military. She also worked as a
metaphysician and published a pamphlet titled
Directions for Health on
a Metaphysical Basis. Sheldon was a friend of American social reformer and
women's rights activist Susan B. Anthony, and she devoted time to the National Woman
Suffrage Association.
