May B. Samples (1868-1941) was born in Binghamton, New York, and died in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She first married William D. Hubbard in Rochester, New York,
in 1892. They divorced, and in 1911, she married John L. Samples. Samples joined The
First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, on June 2, 1900. Although
her mother, Delinda E. Brownell, was a student of Mary Baker Eddy's, there is no record
of Samples studying with Eddy. Samples was listed in the directory of
The Christian Science Journal as a Christian Science practitioner from 1922
until her death.
