Charlotte L. Russell (1839-1929) was born in Carlton, Michigan, and died
in Hastings, Michigan. She became interested in Christian Science in 1885 and studied
with Annie M. Knott, a student of Mary Baker Eddy's. In November 1885 she wrote to Mary
Baker Eddy, asking if Eddy could take her son, Harry Palmer Russell, as a patient and
asking for advice about his case. It's not clear how long Russell's interest in
Christian Science lasted, but there is no record of her joining The First Church of
Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts.
