Mary O. Royal (1832-1905) was born in Union, Maine, and died in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. She became interested in Christian Science in early 1885 and hoped to study with Mary Baker Eddy. However, even though there is no record of Royal studying with Eddy or a Christian Science teacher, she continued to study Science and Health and treat patients in towns throughout Sagadahoc County and Kennebec County, Maine.
