Amanda P. Rexford (b. Pleasants) (1838-1894) was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and died in Columbus, Ohio. She married Russel B. Morford, a judge, in Jacksonville, Oregon, in 1854. After he passed away in 1869, she married Everett L. Rexford, a pastor, in California in 1878 while she was working as a principal of a women's seminary. They moved to Akron, Ohio, where Everett became president of Buchtel College, as well as pastor of the city's Universalist church, and Rexford worked as a music teacher. They eventually moved to Roxbury, a neighborhood within the city of Boston, Massachusetts, where Everett became pastor of the First Universalist church. Rexford was a student of Annie M. Knott, a Christian Science practitioner and teacher, and she was a member of the Christian Science Dispensary Association. The Rexfords moved to Columbus in November 1894.
