P01508 Dorcas Rawson (c.1829 - c.1891) was a student in Mary Baker Eddy's second
class on Christian Science healing, which was held in November 1870. Eddy lived at
Rawson's home in Lynn, Massachusetts, for two months in 1872. Nearly a decade later in
1881, Rawson was part of a group of eight students who resigned from Eddy's Christian
Scientist Association. She, along with her sister, Miranda Rice, continued to practice
mental healing but in direct competition with Christian Science.
