Eliza S. Putnam (b. Howard) (1858-1919) was born in Quebec, Canada, and died in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She married Henry L. Putnam, a student of Mary Baker Eddy's, in Montreal in 1880. Eliza was a student of Josephine Curtis Woodbury, who had studied with Eddy. In 1889, Eliza's husband Henry had an affair with Josephine Curtis Woodbury. After learning of it, Eddy sent him back to Eliza and their children. Putnam joined The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, on July 1, 1893.
