Erasmus D. Porter (1845-1901) was born in Marengo, Michigan, and died in Chicago, Illinois. He was the owner of 472 West Randolph Street, Chicago, where Mary Baker Eddy stayed and taught a class in May 1884. There is no record of Porter studying with Eddy or uniting with the Church of Christ (Scientist).
