Hannah E. Phillips (1832-1907) was born in Chesterville, Maine, and died
in Portland, Maine. She was the widow of Warren Phillips, who for many years was the
superintendent of the Masonic Temple in Portland. She heard of Christian Science through
Eugene H. Greene and Grace A. Greene, both students of Mary Baker Eddy's. Phillips wrote
to Eddy in 1885 to inquire about treatment and studying at the Massachusetts
Metaphysical College. There is no record of her being treated by, or studying with,
Eddy.
