Ellen C. Pilsbury Philbrook (1845-1904) was born in Wethersfield, Connecticut, and died in Tilton, New Hampshire. She was the oldest daughter of Martha Pilsbury, Mary Baker Eddy's older sister, and was healed of enteritis by Eddy in 1867. She married Edwin Philbrook in Macon, Illinois, in 1871, and together they taught in Decatur, Illinois, schools from 1879-1885. Philbrook was actively involved with St. John's Episcopal Church in Decatur.
