Baxter E. Perry (1826-1906) was born in Lyme, New Hampshire, and died in
Camden, Maine. He was a lawyer and politician who acted as an attorney on transactions
for the land on which the Original Edifice of The Mother Church is built. In 1895, he
was elected Mayor of Medford, Massachusetts, and served one term. In 1897, he was
disbarred for unprofessional conduct relating to the probate of an estate in
1877.
