Thomas Patterson (c.1859-1883) was born in Ireland and died in Boston,
Massachusetts. He was married to Elizabeth Patterson, later Elizabeth O'Brien. Evidence
suggests that he was a student of Mary Baker Eddy's, studying with her in early 1883. He
worked as a stone cutter and lived in West Roxbury, Massachusetts. There is no record of
him joining the Christian Scientist Association or uniting with the Church of Christ
(Scientist).
