Francis Partridge (1846-1906) was born in Dursley, Gloucestershire, England, and died in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. He was an Anglican priest who ministered in Ontario and throughout the Canadian Maritimes. He was educated at St. Augustine's Missionary College in Canterbury, England, and emigrated to Canada shortly after, in 1868. He was ordained in 1870 and accepted his first rectorship in 1872 at Rothesay, New Brunswick. In 1882, he was appointed rector of St. George's church, Halifax, Nova Scotia. During his rectorship, he wrote to Mary Baker Eddy after reading Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures to ask her if he could attend her "lectures" on his next visit to Boston. There is no record of him attending a class with her. In 1895, he was appointed Dean of Fredericton, a position he held until his passing.
