Jane "Jennie" C. Panton (b. Brown) (1835-1919) was born in Preston,
Connecticut, and died in Lisbon, Connecticut. She was a school teacher. In 1878, she
married Lawrence C. Panton. He was a stock raiser. The couple went abroad after their
marriage and then lived in Napa, California, for ten years before returning to
Connecticut. In 1886, Mary L. W. Towle wrote to Mary Baker Eddy to order copies of
Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures for Panton and
another woman, Olive Stevens.
