Albra J. Osgood (1853-1924) was born in Durham, Maine, and died in
Escondido, California. He was a farmer who wrote to Mary Baker Eddy in early 1885 to ask
for information on studying at the Massachusetts Metaphysical College. There is no
record of him studying at the College or joining The First Church of Christ, Scientist,
in Boston, Massachusetts. In about 1900 he left Durham and moved to Escondido, where he
worked as a chicken farmer.
