Thomas C. Oliver (1827-1892) was born in Lynn, Massachusetts, and died in
Amesbury, Massachusetts. He was an artist, noted for painting marine subjects, who
studied with Mary Baker Eddy in 1870. Eddy lived with Oliver and his wife, Susan,
briefly during the spring of 1870 and she held meetings with her students at their house
on South Common Street in Lynn, Massachusetts, in December 1871. The Olivers' interest
in Eddy's teachings appears to have ceased by about 1872.
