Elizabeth M. Newhall (1839-1927) was a resident of Newburyport,
Massachusetts, and studied Christian Science with Mary Baker Eddy in 1875. She was one
of the founding members of the Christian Scientist Association and along with George W.
Barry, she helped finance the first printing of
Science and
Health in 1875. She was expelled from the Christian Scientist Association on
June 2, 1883 because of her continual absence from meetings.
