M. Emma Morse (1842-1920) was born in Haverhill, New Hampshire, and died
in Lawrence, Massachusetts. She worked as a textile worker in the mills at Lawrence. A
student of Mary Baker Eddy's, Morse completed the Primary class in November 1885. In a
letter printed in the October 1899 issue of Oliver C. Sabin's
Washington News Letter, Morse described herself as "...a Healer, Teacher, and
Lecturer, standing at the head of this movement, but declining to enroll with the Church
and Association."
