Rufus A. Morrison (1834-1903) was born in Windham, New Hampshire, and
died in Washington, D.C. He graduated from Amherst College in 1859 and from Princeton
Theological Seminary in 1862. After teaching classics at Mount Joy Academy in
Pennsylvania, he worked as an assistant examiner and solicitor of patents for the United
States Patent and Trademark Office in Washington, D.C., until his death. He wrote to
Mary Baker Eddy in 1885 to order a replacement copy of
Science and
Health with Key to the Scriptures.
