Robert Morris
R00005Robert Morris (1818-1888) was a Master Mason and the Poet Laureate of
Masonry. He is credited with being the founder of the Order of the Eastern Star, a
fraternal order which men and women can join. In 1868 Morris spent a year in the Holy
Land, a trip which culminated in his book Freemasonry in the Holy
Land. Throughout his life he was a prolific writer writing extensively on the
subject of Freemasonry.
