Alpheus Morrill (1808-1874) was born in Canterbury, New Hampshire, and
died in Concord, New Hampshire. He graduated from Dartmouth College with an M.D. in
1832. He converted to homeopathy in 1843 in Chester, Ohio, where he practiced medicine
before moving back to New Hampshire and beginning his homeopathy practice in Concord.
Morrill is known for being a founder of the practice in New Hampshire. He assisted in
forming the first Homeopathic Medical Society in the state, serving as president of its
organization until 1870. In 1853, he advised Mary Baker Eddy on homeopathy. His first
wife, Hannah M. Baker, was Mary Baker Eddy's first cousin.
