George W. Moore (c.1824-1891) was born in Wells, Pennsylvania, and died
in St. Paul, Minnesota. He was the husband of Julia Tuttle Moore and father of Caroline
M. Moore, who both studied with Mary Baker Eddy in May 1880. George W. Moore moved to
Minnesota (then the Territory of Minnesota) and worked there as a printer. After the
Civil War, he was appointed as the deputy collector of the port of St. Paul, a position
he held until the late 1880s when ill health forced him to retire. There is no record of
him studying with Mary Baker Eddy or uniting with the Church of Christ
(Scientist).
