Margaret Merrill (1854-1924) was born in Birmingham, Michigan, and died
in Saginaw, Michigan. She studied at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor from 1886
to 1888. After graduating, she taught at Saginaw High School where she remained until at
least 1920. A Saginaw High School yearbook for 1905 lists Merrill's specialty at that
time as "Commercial Geography." In 1886, during Merrill's time in Ann Arbor, she wrote
to Mary Baker Eddy to order Christian Science pamphlets.
