Emily M. Meader (1840-1910) was born in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, and
died in Boston, Massachusetts. She was introduced to Christian Science after being
healed by Clara Choate. Several years later, Meader became a student of Mary Baker
Eddy's, studying with her in March 1888. Meader became a member of the Christian
Scientist Association on February 6, 1889. She was one of the First Members of The Mother Church,
later known as "Executive Members," who was one of twenty elected to join the original
twelve members of the church when it was formed on September 23, 1892. She was listed as a Christian Science
practitioner in
The Christian Science
Journal from 1890 until her passing.
