Celia McLane (1855-1945) was born in Ireland and died in Wilmington, Delaware. She became interested in Christian Science in 1885 and wrote to Mary Baker Eddy, asking for information about studying at the Massachusetts Metaphysical College. There is no record of McLane studying with Eddy, but she later studied with Eddy's student, Robert C. Hannon. McLane joined The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, in March 1894.
