Rachel "Ray" McCraney (b. Mylar) (1856-1930) was born in Volcano,
California, and died in Oakdale, California. She moved with her family to Sacramento,
California, when an infant. In 1892 she married William R. McCraney in Dos Palos,
California. William died in 1896, and Rachel married his brother, George H. McCraney, in
1902. He was a farmer. By 1910 the McCraneys had moved to Oakdale, where Rachel remained
for the rest of her life. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church and the Women's
Christian Temperance Union. In 1886, an acquaintance sent Rachel two copies of
Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.
