Cornelia W. Maynard (1833-1892) was born in New York and died in Winnetka, Illinois. She married Edwin Maynard in 1862. She became interested in Christian Science after reading Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. Although she expressed an interest in studying with both Mary Baker Eddy and Ellen Brown Linscott, there is no record of her studying with either or joining The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts.
