Melinda A. Maxwell (b. Sands) (1843-1933) was born in Boone County,
Illinois, and died in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In 1864, she married her first husband
George W. Maxwell, who died in 1875. She then married his brother, Edgar G. Maxwell, in
1879. He had founded the Sands & Maxwell Lumber company in 1875. In 1886, Maxwell
wrote to Mary Baker Eddy to order a copy of
Science and Health with Key
to the Scriptures.
