James Lloyd (1769-1831) was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and died in
New York, New York. He was a United States Senator from Massachusetts, representing the
state twice, from 1808-1813 and 1822-1826. Lloyd was educated at Boston Latin School
before attending Harvard University as part of the class of 1787. His father was James
Lloyd (1728-1810), a physician who practiced in Boston during the Revolutionary
War.
