Jennie E. Lindgren (1856-1919), later Jennie L. Simonsen, was born in Chicago, Illinois, and died in Evanston, Illinois. She was a graduate of Northwestern University and a charter member of the Evanston woman's club. In 1896 she married Nels E. Simonsen, professor of Norwegian-Danish languages at Northwestern. In 1885 she showed an interest in Christian Science, and Adelaide Johnson ordered a copy of The Christian Science Journal on her behalf.
