George Lewis (1847-1915) was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and died in Reading, Massachusetts. He worked as a shoemaker and married his second wife, Louisa E. Lewis (b. Stowell) in 1878. They leased Mary Baker Eddy's home, 8 Broad Street in Lynn, Massachusetts, in 1880; living in the house's lower tenement while Lewis' brother, Charles O. Lewis, lived with his family in the upper tenement. Lewis was a member of West Lynn Lodge of Odd Fellows.
