Amelia Leer (b. Turner) (1852-1915) was born and died in Kentucky. She
married James Monroe Leer in 1874 in Madison, Kentucky. He worked as a farmer and an
importer and breeder of male donkeys. In 1886, they were living in Paris, Kentucky, when
she wrote to Mary Baker Eddy to inquire about Christian Science class instruction and
other study materials. According to available records, she did not have further formal
involvement with Christian Science.
