Flora M. Lamson (1840-1916) was born in Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts,
and died in Newton, Massachusetts. She attended Shelburne Falls Academy in the late
1850s. Lamson was the sister of Florence N. Gifford (b. Lamson) and sister-in-law of
Reverend O. P. (Orrin Phillip) Gifford, who were students of Mary Baker Eddy's. Lamson
attended one day of Eddy's January 1887 Primary class. Eddy subsequently recommended
that Lamson study with her student Emma Gray, which she did later in 1887.
