Dora M. Knapp (1856-1933) was born in Coxsackie, New York, and died in
Los Angeles, California. She joined The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston,
Massachusetts, on January 6, 1894, and was a member of the Christian Scientist
Association. Knapp was part of a special committee appointed by First Church of Christ,
Scientist, Kansas City, to inform Mary Baker Eddy of its unification with the city's
Second Church in 1896. She was listed in the directory of
The Christian
Science Journal as a Christian Science practitioner in Kansas City and Los
Angeles from 1896 until her death.
