W. (William A.) Kellaway (1848-1927) was born in Weymouth, Dorset,
England, and died in Los Angeles, California. Kellaway was a Boston-based printer who
printed
The Christian Science
Journal from its first issue in 1883 until late 1888. Kellaway also
printed some of Mary Baker Eddy's writings:
Historical Sketch of
Metaphysical Healing (1885) and
Rudiments and Rules of Divine
Science (1887). Kellaway sold his printing business in 1888 because of
financial hardship and moved to California. While living in Los Angeles, he continued to
work as a printer and a publisher; however, he also began to work as an author,
publishing his major work,
The New System of Christian Living,
in 1917. There is no record of Kellaway studying with Eddy or uniting with the Church of
Christ (Scientist).
