Ira B. Keith (1849-1925) was born in Havelock, New Brunswick, and died in
Lynn, Massachusetts. He graduated from Harvard Law School in 1871 with a Bachelor of
Laws degree, and he set up his practice in Lynn, Massachusetts, after graduation. Later
on he served as a justice on the bench of the Lynn Police Court. He was retained as a
lawyer by Mary Baker Eddy during the late 1870s until the middle of the 1880s, providing
legal advice on lawsuits and managing her property at 8 Broad Street, Lynn, after she
removed to Boston in 1882.
