Emily Jaques (1820-1888) was a lifelong resident of New York. She was an
active member of the women's rights movement, attending the National Woman's Rights
Conventions in Saratoga (1855), where she also served as secretary, and Albany (1866).
Although she expressed an interest in Christian Science, there is no record of her
studying with Mary Baker Eddy or uniting with the Church of Christ (Scientist).
