Andrew J. Ingersoll (1818-1893) was born in Hammondsport, New York, and
            died in Corning, New York. He was a hydropathic physician and author who practiced in
            New York State. In 1859, he moved to Corning, where he ran a successful practice from
            his home before building an office on Post Creek in Corning. He wrote several books on
            hydropathy, the most notable being 
In Health (1876).
