Alexis W. Ide (1826-1901) was born and died in Medway, Massachusetts. He
was a Congregational minister who studied for the pastorate under his father, Jacob Ide.
Alexis W. Ide was ordained on July 7, 1859, at Stafford Springs, Connecticut. In 1872,
he was elected to the Massachusetts House of Representatives, representing the 12th
Norfolk district and serving one term until he was elected Massachusetts Senate Chaplain
in 1874. His later years were spent in Medway, giving aid to others and preaching on an
ad hoc basis.
