William R. M. Hook (1823-1896) was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and
died in Brookline, Massachusetts. He was a provisions dealer and served as deacon of the
Warren Avenue Baptist church in Boston. He married Myra B. Hook (b. Shattuck) in Boston
in 1867. She was a relative of John H. Veazey, a student of Mary Baker Eddy's. In 1886,
Veazey wrote to Eddy and listed Hook and his wife as references to support his
application to enter one of Eddy's classes.
