Myra B. Hook (b. Shattuck) (1829-1919) was born in Calais, Maine, and
died in Brookline, Massachusetts. She married William R. M. Hook, a provisions dealer,
in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1867. Myra Hook was a relative of John H. Veazey, a student
of Mary Baker Eddy's. In 1886, Veazey wrote to Eddy and listed Hook and her husband as
references to support his application to enter one of Eddy's classes.
