Dora A. Hoffman (1854-1922) was born in Schaefferstown, Pennsylvania, and
died in Richland, Pennsylvania. She became interested in Christian Science in the summer
of 1885 while visiting Omaha, Nebraska. While there she received Christian Science
treatment through prayer from Jennie B. Fenn, a student of Mary Baker Eddy's. In 1885
she wrote to Mary Baker Eddy, asking for information on any Christian Scientists who
were practicing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
