Sanford Hoag (1836-1917) was born in New York and died in Long Beach,
California. He married Juliet Moore in 1864. Hoag graduated from the Cleveland
Homeopathic Medical College in 1871. He worked as a homeopathic physician in Denver,
Colorado, for most of his life, and was president of the Denver Academy of Homeopathic
Physicians. He wrote to Mary Baker Eddy in 1886 about his interest in studying with her,
however there is no record of him doing so or joining the Church of Christ
(Scientist).
