Wiot R. Hinkley (1866-1948) was born in Lone Tree, Iowa, and died in
North English, Iowa. He worked as a farmer and married Lydia Mae Douglas in Iowa City,
Iowa, in 1886. His mother, Adaline E. Hinkley, wrote to Mary Baker Eddy in 1885,
inquiring about Christian Science after being treated through prayer by one of her
students, Mary Hinds Philbrick.
